About Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman is the humble devotee of Maryada Purushotama Rama . He holds Shree Rama and Goddess Sita in his heart. He is the master of all siddhis and is Shiva-amsha himself. In that sense he is the bridge between Shivaties and Vishanviates. He is the son of Vayu deva ( element air) . And is symbolized by the mind. A whole chapter of the Epic Ramayana is dedicated to him . This chapter is called Sundara-Kanda .

Sundara is the real name of Shri Hanuman. Hanuman is a name that he received after he had a hurt on his chin ( one who has a wound mark on the chin is called hanuman). He received this mark after he was hit by the thunder bolt by Lord Indra. To keep him from hurting himself and others, the Gods offered that he will remember this only when reminded of his strengths.

He was reminded of this when Lord Shri Rama wanted to send his ring to Sita Devi.

Many people pray to Shree Hanuman for relief from problems. Prayer to Hanuman on Saturdays is supposed to be a cure for problems said to result form planet Saturn . People pray to him on Tuesdays for Mars related problems.

About the temple

There is great power in the temple by the blessing of Shri Hanuman himself. Hanuman is the symbolic of the mind. Prayer to hanuman gives us great confidence. He could have defeated all of the asuras in Lanka Himself, but he waited longer only to honour his Lord God Rama.

He is a Messenger ( tactful speech) is his art .He can even do hard negotiations if it comes to that. He drove hard bargain for Ravan's own good . Not accepting it meant Ravan's Destruction. He, in the process of negotiation also collected vital info about Ravana and his fort. Can a Messenger get any Smarter? We Think not!

The above shloka mean where ever you sing the lord Rama's Nama , he is there with eyes filled with tears of bhakti.

Intelligence of Hanuman Hanuman delivered the sacred ring of Shree Rama to Sitaji and went off to do some research of the Lankan Defense. He fought a lot of asuras. When Ravana' s son came and found he usual weapons he summoned a divine weapon that he had received from the Gods. Hanuman saw this, and thought to himself that his needs to get into the castle but did not want to dishonour the divine weapon. So he humbly submitted himself to it. After which the Asuras tied him up and took him to Ravana.

So did Hanuman loose the fight ?
No , he did not . He in fact found a way into the castle where he was bound to be set free as he was messenger of Shri Rama. At the same time submitting himself t the divine weapon shows his humility , courage and intelligence. This way the weapon remains respected. He told the Asura King Ravana that he should surrender himself to the Lord Shri Rama so that his life can be enlightened.

Do you think any one afraid could go and tell this to a Asura king ? And again he entered the throne room of Ravan . Only after the tricks that Hanuman played there did they realize that hanuman was not ordinary person. That is how smart he really is.
